Power interruption explained
BY RENE GENOVE

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines yesterday shut down some of its transmission facilities under the coverage area of the Negros Oriental Electric Cooperative 2.

The power interruption from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. yesterday was due to maintenance activity along the Dumaguete-Siaton 69kV transmission line.

Visayas Corporation Communications officer Elmer Cruz of NGCP said normal operations resumed immediately after.

NGCP customers and the public were advised to take necessary preparations and precautions during said interruption.

Cruz said specific cities and municipalities affected by the power interruption were determined by NORECO II, which allots the available power within its franchise area and implements the power interruption schedule among the end-users, he added.*RG
