EDC helps tremor victims

Relief goods worth P1 million were donated by the Energy Development Corporation recently to victims of earthquake that hit Guihulngan City and the towns of Tayasan and Jimalalud, in Negros Oriental, a press release from the company said yesterday.

Dwight Maxino, vice president for EDC southern and northern Negros Geothermal Production Fields, said their employees lost no time in helping the earthquake victims.

. The donated items included rice, canned goods, bottled water, blankets and flashlights, he added. Their packing and distribution were done in coordination with the ABS-CBN Sagip Kapamilya.

The company could not do it in their southern Negros office in Valencia as roads leading to the three towns were impassable so they sought help from its northern Negros office in Bago City, Maxino said.*
