Ramos says she is no longer
leader of VP Binay in Negros

BY CARLA GOMEZ

An active campaigner of Jejomar Binay in his bid for the vice presidency in 2010, yesterday said she has been informed by his office that she is no longer in the list of his leaders in Negros.

Dr. Marichi Ramos, said at a press conference yesterday, that she was disclosing this information relayed to her on February 14, to inform the people she had approached during the campaign to help the vice president, that she no longer has access to his office to seek whatever assistance they may need from him.

She said she feels responsible for the people she tapped to help in the campaign of Binay but because of financial difficulties herself, she is no longer able to assist them as she has done in the past.

In the past Ramos said she used to give funeral and medical assistance to people who helped in the Binay campaign from her own funds, but cannot do so anymore.

“I just want to explain to these people why I am no longer able to provide them with assistance, and apologize for it,” she said.

Ramos said she campaigned for the vice president for two and a half years in Negros and other parts of the country and would like to thank all those who helped her.

What is painful is it was not Binay who told her that she is no longer one of his leaders in Negros, she said, adding that she cannot even go to his office anymore.

“I have been asking for an appointment with him but have not been given a chance to sit down with him,” she said.

She noted that many of the people who surround the vice president when he comes to Negros did not even campaign for him in 2010.

But Ramos stressed that she is not against the vice president, she still believes in what Binay can do for the people, because she knows that he knows how to work.*CPG
