Drug suspect, ‘snatcher’
nabbed in Bacolod: PNP

A man wanted for illegal drug sale charges was apprehended by Station 5 policemen at about 12:30 p.m. yesterday at Bangga Bagul in Brgy. Granada, Bacolod City.

Station 5 chief, Senior Insp. Richie Gohee, identified the suspect as King Bautista, “alias Ike”, 54, of Abada-Escay, Vista Alegre in Brgy. Granada, who was nabbed by virtue of the arrest warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Edgar Garvilles, who denied him bail.

Armed with a search warrant issued by RTC Judge Fernando Elumba, members of the National Bureau of Investigation-Bacolod, led by agent-in-charge Ferdinand Lavin, and the Bacolod City Police Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Group raided the houses of Bautista in Vista Alegre and in Brgy. 8, Bacolod, on May 18, 2012.

Lavin told the DAILY STAR then that the raids were conducted on information from a concerned citizen that the suspect is into illegal drugs sale.

A .45 caliber pistol, two small sachets of suspected shabu and several bank deposit slips were seized from Bautista after the raid, police and NBI records show.

Meanwhile, Senior Insp. Jose Mulleta, chief of the BCPO Intelligence Branch, reported the arrest of an alleged notorious snatcher at about 10:45 a.m. yesterday in Purok Brotherhood, Brgy. Sum-ag.

Mulleta said Floridelle Hermoso, 35, of Rizal-Lopez Jaena streets, Bacolod, was apprehended on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Judge George Patriarca, who set her bail at P24,000.*APN

Rape raps eyed vs.

Rape charges may be filed against a tricycle driver and his two cohorts before the Bacolod City Prosecutors Office on complaints of a mentally-challenged teenager.

Insp. Jovy Cabcaban, chief of the Bacolod City Police Women and Children’s Complaints Desk, said they are now preparing the documents so that charges could be filed against the suspects, whose names she withheld.

Cabcaban said the result of the medical examination conducted on the victim showed a laceration on her sex organ, although she clarified that it does not mean the girl was indeed raped.

Cabcaban said they also noted several inconsistencies on the statements of the victim because initially, she said that only the tricycle driver raped her, but retracted her statements when she was interviewed.

However, they decided to pursue the charges based on the allegations of the victim, she added.

The victim’s mother said she left the teenager at about 11 p.m. Saturday at the house of their family friend as she had to go to work, but the victim went out without being noticed.

Two hours later, she came back, claiming that she was sexually-assaulted behind a Catholic church by a certain “Nonoy” and his friends.*APN
