The Department of Labor and Employment in Western Visayas is asking all employers to comply and implement the P12 wage increase to avoid problems in their business operations, Ponciano Ligutom, DOLE regional director, said yesterday.
Ligutom said the wage increase in Region VI is lower compared to those in Davao, Cagayan de Oro, and Cebu.
The amount should not be too much of a burden for employers then, he added.

She said the management is looking for funds and trying its best to pay the workers.
Plantersbank expansion on
The Planters Development Bank has strengthened its presence in key markets by turning aggressive in its expansion with the goal of increasing its loan exposures as well as other portfolios, a press release from the firm said.
Gary Vargas, Consumer Banking Group head of the bank, said the expansion aggressiveness is part of the bank's re-engineering as it has ventured into opening more loan windows together with setting up more branches.
Vargas, who was in Cebu recently during the Cebu Business Month, said that among the products that it has gone into is providing loans for housing, automobile, personal as well big loans for companies who wanted to expand their businesses.
