Organize PLEB, dads ask
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

A resolution requesting Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia to formally organize the People’s Law Enforcement Board, was approved by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod Wednesday.

As provided in Republic Act No. 6975, the SP nominated Councilor Dindo Ramos as member of the PLEB, the resolution said.

Before the passage of the resolution nominating Ramos, the City Peace and Order Council had submitted to the SP the list of sectoral representatives for the PLEB, it said.

Considering that the process of selection for the membership in the PLEB had been already completed, the resolution saidwhat remains is for the local chief executive to organize the board, and to issue the designation of each PLEB members.

The SP also approved a resolution requesting the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office through the Office of the City Mayor to assign traffic enforcers at the Circumferential Road, particularly in areas undergoing construction.

The resolution said that since the past months, the Circumferential Road is still under repair/construction, which creates heavy traffic in the area.

Since the start of the road construction, a number of vehicular accidents have occurred and caused injury to several people, which could have been avoided had traffic enforcers been provided the order, it said.

The resolutions were authored by Councilor El Cid Familiaran.*CGS
