Santacruzan festival
winners announced

Barangay Buñao in Dumaguete City emerged as champion in the recent Santacruzan Festival, as well as best in choreography and in street dancing, and received P50,000 in cash prize, plus trophy.

Barangay Piapi was first runner-up and was best in production design, and won P30,000; while Barangay Poblacion 7 was second runner-up and best in costume, and got P20,000, results of the Festival show.

The festival queen this year – Reyna Esperanza – who came from Barangay Motong, received P5,000 plus trophy, it added.

Dumaguete City Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria lauded the City Tourism Council and the Tourism Office, led by Woodrow Maquiling Jr., for the success of the festivities, that ended with a fireworks display and a performance by GMA Kapuso showbiz personalities, at the Quezon Park.*
