No major price changes in basic goods
but inspection ongoing in Bacolod City

There has been no significant increase in the prices of basic necessities and prime commodities in the three public markets of Bacolod City, Ernie Pineda, Bacolod City Market Coordinating and Monitoring Task Force head, said yesterday.

Pineda said that rates may change any time but they are closely monitoring them to make sure that if there are increases they are reasonable.

The city and the Department of Trade and Industry are planning a massive monitoring and the strengthening of the Consumer Welfare Desks at the Libertad, Burgos, and Central markets that settles consumer complaints, he also said.

ANP to launch
‘Our Food’ agri program

The Association of Negros Producers will launch its new program, OUR Food, with the association’s new members, the farmers group from all over Negros tomorrow, an ANP press release said.

OUR Food stands for Optimizing and Upscaling Roles in the Food Supply Chain and is envisioned to support the agriculture industry towards sustainability and development while it encourages the lifestyle of healthy eating and living, the press release said.

Farmer groups with ANP and NISARD Board of Trustees and representatives from German organization, AFOS Foundation, will pay a courtesy call on Gov. Alfredo Marañon, Jr.

Entrepreneurship to be part
of high school, college: solon

Lawmakers have filed a bill that will instill and enhance in the Filipino youth the basic concepts of entrepreneurship and business, a press release from Congress said.

House Bill 6124 authored by Reps. Diosdado Arroyo (2nd District, Camarines Sur) and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (2nd District, Pampanga) seeks to prescribe entrepreneurship education to high school and college students, the press release said.

Arroyo said there is a need to inculcate in the students the basic concepts of entrepreneurship and business to give them an alternative source of income after graduation.
