‘Goodbye Day’
This year's “Goodbye Day” at A Child's Place in Bacolod City featured the Disney Classic “Mulan” recently.
Mulan dances were superbly performed and the attractive backdrop accented the affair, while the Lion dancers of the Bacolod Chamber Volunteer Fire Brigade gave the show a "big bang" finish.
The role of “Mulan” was beautifully danced by Hannah Alvarez. Captain Shang was Jaime Castro, while Mulan's protectors Mushu and Cri-Kee were played by Carmeli Cordero and Juliana Millan, respectively. Aljo Villagante was perfectly cast as the Emperor.
All eight dances were performed by kinder, nursery, pre-nursery and toddler students, who looked adorable in their very colorful costumes. The Casa Maria Spiritual Center was overflowing with parents, grandparents, siblings and other guests, who could not get enough of their little ones who danced with gusto, to the delight of their audience.
A surprise and very fitting ending to the show was the performance of the Lion dancers.*
