Countertrade beat AACI Trading
in Fil-Sino 3rd Conference tourney

JSY Countertrade dealt undefeated AACI Trading its first loss, 75-67, while JSY Transport notched its first victory at the expense of AACI Transport 80-66 in Class B of the Fil-Sino All Asian Countertrade 3rd Conference Inter-Color Basketball Tournament at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym.

With the win, Countertrade tied its victim with a 2-1 win-loss record, while JSY Transport also caught up with AACI Transport at 1-2.

Wilson Dy and Jan Jan Young combined for 14 points to give Countertrade a 21-14 first quarter lead.

AACI Trading grabbed the lead at the half, 37-29, behind the exploits of Mark Velez and RJ Iligan.

The lead swung back to Countertrade going to the fourth quarter as the team posted a 57-50 lead with six players scoring four or more points led by Glenn Yee with six points.

Luigi Coo and Velez led a Trading rally in the payoff quarter but Ryan Tumbagahan scored eight points to carry Countertrade to victory.

Wilson Dy paced Countertrade with 15 points, Young and Brian Ong had 13 each, Tumbagahan hit 10, Ardian Ong and Glenn Yee scored 6 points each.

AACI Trading was led by Coo with 16 points, backstopped by Velez with 14, Iligan added 8, Richard Tan scored 7, and Cesar Noble with 6 points.

In the second game, AACI Transport held a slim 33-31 lead at the break behind Garret Tabanao’s 9 points and teammates Daniel Lo and Jordan Chua combining for 13 points. Monroe Chua shot 10 points and Eduardo Ng hit 6 points for JSY Transport.

JSY Transport picked up their defense in the second half as they played a halfcourt man-to-man defense forcing the turnovers as the lead reached double digits in the first five minutes of the third quarter.

Chua continued with his stellar play for JSY in the second half along with Michael Miranda as they contributed 12 points each.

JSY also got support from Berto Uysang and Richard Uy’s fastbreak attacked that delivered 14 points for team.

Trading’s outside arsenal fell silent in the second half and could only managed to cut the deficit to as low as 7 points courtesy of the inside points from Biboy Uysang, Chipeng Uy and Brian Javelosa.

Chua delivered a game-high 24 points, Miranda added 18, Berto Uysang, Richard Uy and Eduardo Ng with 8 points each and Siopao Dichavez had 6 points.

Biboy Uysang paced AACI transport wiith 14 pointrs, Chipeng Uy tallied 11 points, Daniel Lo and Tabanao with 10 points each.*with a report from Stephen Tan
