SIFI conducts 122nd outreach
IN SAGAY

The 122nd medical dental mission of the Sugar Industry Foundation Inc. benefited around 428 sugar workers in Brgy. Paraiso, Sagay City, Negros Occidental, recently, its press release said.

The team was headed by Neolita Alminaza of SIFI, and assisted by the Lopez Sugar Corporation, led by Amy Amar of the Personnel and Community Relations Office; Brgy. Paraiso Captain Eufenio Doronila, local health workers, and the Eusebio Lopez Memorial Integrated School, led by Joejery Dionaldo, the press release said.

The doctors and dentists were Milagros Amarra, Terry Gasataya, Estrella Leong, Enrique Serna, Rosimar Reyes Tina Oliveros, Mario Oliveros and Perlita Sumagaysay. They served 346 residents with free medical consultations and medicines, and 82 patients availed of free dental extractions.

Around 200 children and some adults were given the dehydrated vegetable soup mix, donated by the Ontario Christian Gleaners from Canada and the Loving Rose Mission Philippines.*

IN BACOLOD
2-day pastoral
congress held

A 2-day Pastoral Congress and plenary session was held recently by the Our Lady of Candles Parish in Bacolod City, led by Fr. Nomer Esporsado, with more than 100 delegates from parish areas and lay organizations present, a press release from the parish said.

Fr. Joevic Lemoncito, vicar forane of the Vicariate of the Triumph of the Holy Cross, gave insights on liturgy; Fr. Mitchel Guadalupe, diocesan oeconomus, on finance; Fr. Ernie Larida, social action; Fr. Ireneo Gordoncillo, basic ecclesial communities; Fr. Ruel Jundos, chaplain of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, lay organizations; while Fr. Nitodel Soriano, parochial vicar of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Shrine discussed family life and youth, the press release also said.

Group discussions was held to identify common concerns and aspirations on parochial programs.

Esporsado said the gathering also aimed to establish active BECs in the parish, the press release added.*
