Main shabu peddler
nabbed in San Carlos
Policemen arrested yesterday the main distributor
of shabu who was listed as number one in the drug watchlist of the
police in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
Armed with a search warrant issued by Judge Franklin
Cobol, a police team led by Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz swooped
down on the house of Angelito Duhaylungsod, alias Joselito, at Caballero
Subdivision in San Carlos City.
De la Paz said the raid yielded 3.6 grams of
suspected shabu, P26,140 in cash believed to be proceeds from the
sale of prohibited drugs, three cellphones, assorted drug paraphernalia,
and a motorcycle.
Police investigations show that Duhaylungsod,
39, used to be the leader of a local drug gang, that was busted
by the San Carlos police in 2005, and which resulted in the arrest
of five of its members.
Duhaylungsod and four other members of the gang
were freed from jail after posting bail on the drug charges filed
against them, police records showed.
After his release from detention, Duhaylungsod
was monitored to have resumed his drug peddling activities, and
had disposed at least 50 grams of shabu to his sub-distributors
in San Carlos, de la Paz said.
The shabu supplied to Duhaylungsod was traced
by the police to have originated from Cebu.
A gram of shabu is being sold by peddlers at
P5,000, police records show.
De la Paz said they are filing another set of charges
for illegal possession of drugs and its paraphernalia against Duhaylungsod
who is now detained at the city police station jail.*GPB .
