Ten drumbeating tribes from all over Negros Occidental
will compete in SIGABOOM 2007, the first SM City Bacolod Tribal Drumbeating competition,
at Rizal Street, Bacolod City, on Oct. 21, a press release from organizers said.
Participants are the E.B. Magalona Ugyunan Drumbeaters, Tribu
Yab-Yab Doongol of Cadiz City, Tribu Roberto S. Benedicto, Tribu Tres and Tribu
Dos of La Carlota City, Carpenteros and Brgy. Mansilingan Drumbeaters of Bacolod
City, Tribu Ilahas and Tribu Tinabua-ay of Murcia, and Patik Minulu-an of Talisay
City. SIGABOOM 2007 will provide a venue for participants to showcase their talents

The Knights of Columbus of the Triumph of the Holy Cross Council No. 11579, recently
held the installation of officers at the Nuestra Sra. de Regle Shrine, Camingawan,
Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City, a press release from the group said.
Installed were treasurer Quirico Yusay Jr., chancellor Jose Ealdama, district
warden Orlando dela Rosa, chaplain Fr. Antonio Garin, grand knight Rene Perono,

prexy calls on Zayco
The national president of the Federation of Philippine Association of Secondary
Schools Administration Inc. called on acting Governor Isidro Zayco, yesterday,
a Capitol press release said. Rev. Ezekiel Guanzon, Doctor
of Christian Education, seeks the support of the provincial government on the
First Area Meet of the Association of Negros Occidental Private Schools and Schools
Administrators Inc. to be held on Nov. 9, 10 and 11. Events will be held at the
Panaad Stadium in Brgy. Mansilingan and at the Negros Occidental Multi-Purpose
Activity Center where athletic games and cultural contests will be held, respectively,
the press release said. FEDPASA has about 5,000 members from
all over the country, and is an umbrella organization of the Private Schools Athletic
Association of the City of Kabankalan, Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports,
Cultural and Educational Association, and the Philippine Association of Vocational
