As of midnight yesterday the names of Sangguniang Kabataan and barangay election winners in many areas were already known, but there were ties reported and these will require the tossing of coins or drawing of lots to determine the victor.

Commission on Elections Bacolod City registrar Mavil Majarucon said that, in case of a tie, the Barangay Board of Canvassers will reconvene on November 4 to resolve the matter. After all winners are proclaimed, Majarucon said they will have to wait until noon of November 30 to officially assume their position.

She added that no recount should be made on the result of barangay and SK elections unless the COMELEC orders it.

A candidate can file a protest within 10 days after the proclamation has been made, she said.

Those who got the majority votes for barangay captain were: Perigrino Aspan for Barangay Felisa; Lope Ledesma, Brgy. 24; Madeline Diaz, Brgy. 18; Karina Pineda, Brgy. 33; Allan Lucasan, Montevista; Graciano Fuentes, Jr., Brgy. 17; Jocylyn Uychiat, Brgy. 19; Carlo Barredo, Brgy. 20; Rommel Diaz, Brgy. 22; Federico Panes, Brgy. 25; Eduardo Tan, Brgy. 23, Josue Makilan, Brgy. 10;

Degie Tanista, Brgy. Alangilan; Tanya Familiaran, Brgy. 13; Renato Claver, Brgy. 38; Hernani Jalandoon, Brgy. 37; Dante Danoy, Brgy. 39; Elvira Arcobillas, Brgy. 30; Zenaida Lacson, Brgy. 32, Leonilo Colegado, Brgy. 41; and Remus Dely, Brgy. 6.

In Ilog, winners in Barangay 1 were Rodrigo Libo-on for barangay captain, Joemar Vidal Almaiz, Jesus Tingson, Nelly Lirazan, Ma. Teresa Millan, Rey Sarmoy, Dennis Delos Sañez, and Jay Tacardon for kagawad. Elected SK officials were: Charming Delos Sañez, chairman and Jessa Marie Yee, Jennifer Palle, Wyonna Dumagat, Joelyn Claveraz, Ritchel Panegon, Mary Jane Borbe, and Zarina Lubrico as SK kagawads.

In Barangay 2, Jerry Lopez won as barangay captain while D. Balinas, Anita Gamboa, Noli Bando, Turko Urbanozo, Ramon Laforteza, Eddie Tampico, and Wilson Gamboa for kagawads.* NAB/CGS
