Graduates of Silliman University and Saint Paul University, in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, landed in the top 10 of the June 2012 Nurse Licensure Examination passers.

Jessica Franchizca Llanera Estrellado of SU and Feliz Gwenmor Ferrer Fuentes of SPU both garnered 84 percent passing grade and ranked ninth in the examination topped by Roxanne Trinity Lim of the University of Santo Tomas Manila, with a grade of 86.20 percent.

The NLE result was posted by the Professional Regulation Commission yesterday in its website at www.prc.gov.ph.

Silliman has a 95.34 percent overall performance with 266 passers, while Saint Paul has 77 newly-registered nurses and scored 98.72 percent, the PRC said in its rating of schools with 50 or more examinees.

It also announced that a total of 27,823 out of 60,895 examinees passed the NLE given by the Board of Nursing, for a 45.69 percent passing rate.

The PRC said that registration of new nurses will require a duly-accomplished oath form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, current community tax certificate or cedula, two pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag), one 1” x 1” picture (colored with white background and complete name tag), two sets of metered documentary stamps and a short brown envelope with name and profession.

They are required to pay the initial registration fee of P600 and the annual registration fee of P450 for 2012-2015, and should personally register and sign in the roster of registered professionals, the PRC press release said.*
