‘Pusher’ shot dead
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

A suspected drug pusher was gunned down by still unidentified assailants while he was on his motorcycle near the house of his father in Rovinil Subdivision, South Bagacay, Dumaguete City, at about 9 a.m. yesterday.

Duty investigator, Senior Police Officer 1 Harvey Cuasito, identified the fatality as Ryan Ozoa, 33, married, of Sto. Niño Road, Barangay Batinguel, Dumaguete, who succumbed to several gunshot wounds in his abdomen and arms.

Recovered at the crime scene were three spent shells of a .45 caliber pistol, and the victim’s motorcycle.

Ozoa’s father, Rolando, said his son had been detained at the Negros Oriental Detention and Rehabilitation Center for more than five years, and had recently posted bail for his temporarily liberty.

The elder Ozoa said he is not aware if Ryan had again become involved in the illegal drugs trade. The victim, however, was suspected to be behind the recent arrest of his uncle, Serecio Piñero, who is now detained at the Dumaguete police lockup cell, he added.*JG
