heat up at St. La Salle

Perennial championUniversity of St. La Salle-Integrated School leads the cast of 10 teams that are seeing action in the Shakey’s Girls Volleyball League Season 9 Negros Eliminations at the USLS Covered Court.

Setting their eyes on another championship, the La Salle girls are national defending champion after they beat Hope Christian School (Manila) last year in the finals.

To advance to the national championship, the USLS-IS team will have to get past the challenge posed by nine other teams in Negros Occidental.

 Grouped into two brackets, this year’s competing teams are: Bracket A -- USLS-IS), Bacolod Tay Tung High School, St. Joseph School-La Salle, Talisay City, Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod, Colegio San Nicolas de Tolentino-Recoletos and Luisa Medel National High School.

Listed in Bracket B are: La Carlota City /Dona Hortencia Salas Benedicto National High School, Trinity Christian School, St. Theresa Academy-Silay City, St. John’s Institute and Rafael Lacson Memorial High School.

The tournament started on February 19 and is expected to end on March 11 with the champion playing against the top team from Iloilo to advance to the national championship set on March 20 to 24 in Davao City.*NAB
