e-Blotter system: PNP

The Philippine National Police in Negros Oriental yesterday adopted the E-Blotter System, a management tool aimed to modernize the police crime database, and became the first police office to have it in the Central Visayas.

Chief Supt. Marcelo Garbo, PNP Region 7 director, Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo, PNP provincial director, Sr. Supt. Edward Carranza, and other police officials led the launching.

The police chiefs of the five cities and 20 towns of Negros Oriental who were present received their computers and logistics for the project.

City to hold
earthquake, fire drills

A series of earthquake and fire drills will be held next month to prepare the public against calamities by the Dumaguete City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council

The drills will be held for City Hall employees, schools, especially in far-flung barangays, the private sector, and the public, CDRRMC head Jose Chu said, adding that the activities are also in line with the Fire Prevention Month, March.

Chu said there is need to inform the people about mitigating measures and procedures to follow when calamity strikes.

Bikers converge

Bikers from all over the country are expected to converge in Negros Oriental today for a cause called the “Ride for the Children” initiated by Rep. Pryde Henry Teves (Negros Oriental, 3rd District), president of the OGBU bikers in Negros Oriental.

 The big bikers will donate school supplies, toys, slippers and the like to public school children in selected schools in the Third District.

Councilor Dan Leon, a member of the host big bikers club said around 150 big bikers from the Visayas and Mindanao have been to the activity, who have a mass start from Dumaguete to the south, bringing with them their donations.
