Nanny names
kidnapping ‘mastermind’

BY ADRIAN NEMES III

The teenage nanny, who abducted the 1-year-old son of her employer in Brgy. Tangub, Bacolod City, last week already admitted the crime and tagged the live-in partner of her aunt as the mastermind behind the crime, City Police Director Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz said yesterday.

In the presence of her lawyer, Romela Amarilla, and social worker Jennifer Chang, the 17-year-old nanny, whose name is being withheld, executed her extra judicial confession Wednesday. In it that was shown by De la Paz to the media yesterday.

She claimed that the live-in partner of her aunt came to her work place on January 4 and asked if her employer was there.

She said the suspect told her to bring the child to him if her employers are not around, or, he will kill her.

The nanny claimed that the suspect promised to give her P5,000 and a cellular phone if she can bring the child to him. She added that this man is also behind the robbery of a taxi driver in Bacolod and that he belongs to a group responsible for stealing motorcycles in Toboso town, Negros Occidental.

She also claimed that he and his group are planning to rob a store in Victorias City.

De la Paz said the extra judicial confession of the nanny will strengthen the kidnapping case they will file against the live-in partner of her aunt. He added that this does not mean that the nanny is already off the hook because she will still be included in the charges.

De la Paz also said they will conduct a background check on the suspective mastermind so see will know if he has committed other crimes, and what group he belongs to.

Bermae Tolentino, 29, reported to the police Saturday that the nanny abducted her child while she and her two other children were at a mall.*APN
