St. Vincent's Home
raffle winners named

The Damas de la Caridad, Bacolod Unit, recently held its raffle draw at the St. Vincent's Home in Tangub, Bacolod City, a press release from the group said.

Winner of the major prize of P30,000 was Anton Consing, with ticket number 502, while the second prize of P10,000 went to Elaine Montelibano, with ticket number 886.

Winners of the consolation prizes of P2,000 are Catalino Lopez Jr. (ticket no. 1825), RH Fabricators & Designs Inc. (ticket no. 2522), Gambino Go (ticket no. 2540), Nena Varela (ticket no. 2718), Jonathan Lo (ticket no. 330), Patricia A. Cuaycong (ticket no. 682), Gregorio Kilayko (ticket no. 571), Araceli M. Regalado (ticket no. 926), Mercedes L. Mckenzie (ticket no. 043), and Lasaltech (ticket no. 2451).

Proceeds of the raffle draw will go to the maintenance of the St. Vincent's Home, a charitable institution built by the Damas in 1960 for the poor, and which is now managed by the Daughters of Charity.*

Raymart makes
special appearance

This week, viewers of the family-oriented series, Daldalita, will get an extra treat with the special guest appearance of Raymart Santiago on GMA's original drama on the afternoon prime block, a GMA Network press release said.

The Kapuso drama actor will play the role of Tanzan, a jungle-man who will help Daldalita find her way out of the island. Raymart has been identified in top-billing the network's numerous high-rating child-friendly shows that were geared towards kids, Bantatay and Futbolilits, and now, he welcomes the opportunity to finally star opposite child wonder Jillian Ward in the program, the press release said.

In the story, Daldalita meets Tanzan and his gorilla friend, Goy, after being trapped in an unknown island. She luckily survived a plane crash and finds refuge with her newfound friends. Mateo (Ogie Alcasid) and Katrina (Manilyn Reynes) join the rescue team and set off to help locate Daldalita.

The pressure on Mateo to find the child intensifies after learning that Daldalita and his missing daughter Lolita are one and the same person. After many years, Mateo will be finally reunited with his dear daughter Lolita.

Daldalita airs Mondays to Fridays right before 24 Oras on GMA's afternoon prime block, the press release added.*

Yanson–Abayabay wedding set

Cecile Juanico Yanson and Armanolito Baltazar Abayabay will exchange marriage vows at The Ruins in Talisay, Negros Occidental, 3:30 p.m. today with Pastor Emmanuel Jabaybay officiating.

Cecile is the daughter of Rogelio and Delia Yanson, while Arman is the son of Armanolito and Veneranda Abayabay.

The principal sponsors will be Abraham Artos, Max Bayani, Paul Segovia, Manny Villanueva and Noli Yulo; Linda Apostol, Erlinda Artos, Carmen Cabalhin, Maja Dely, Ludy Martyr, Alice Sayson and Majella Verdejo.

The maid of honor will be Ma. Nieves Artos and the best man MelJun Patag.

The groomsmen will be Gabby Yanson, Louie Borlongan and Tristan Emmanuel Patag. The bridesmaids will be Roselyn Yanson, Tricia Faye Patag, Cindy Medina and Mirasail Abayabay.

For the unity candle it will be Anne Frances Jabaybay and Rogelio Yanson Jr., for veil – Lorela Patag and Resty Patag and for cord – King Jimenez and Venus Medina.

The ring bearer will be Matthew Andrei Jabaybay, coin bearer – John Paul Yanson and bible bearer – Jahven Lee Nang-is.

The flower girls will be KC Yanson, Sophia Elaine Yanson, Gabbie Patag and Saljan Yanson.

Reception will follow at the Chalet Grand Ballroom, L'Fisher Hotel, Bacolod City.*

Southern California team
helps more than 2,000 in Negros Occ.

More than 2,000 residents of Himamaylan and Kabankalan cities in Negros Occidental availed of free medical check-ups conducted by the Far Eastern University Medical Alumni Society of Southern California in a four-day free medical and surgical mission, recently.

The mission was conducted in cooperation with the Economic Enterprise and Development Department of the Negros Occidental provincial government, a press release from the Capitol said.

The group also performed 59 major and 24 minor surgeries like TAHBSO, Thyroidectomy, Mastectomy, Hysterectomy, Herniorraphy and Hemorroidectomy, among others, at the Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City.

The FEUMASSC, led by Dr. Licerio Castro, is composed of nine surgeons, 12 internal medicine doctors, three anesthesiologists, 15 nurses and 35 pharmacists and outpatient volunteers coming from Texas, Chicago and Oregon.

Board Member Melvin Ibhañez, Sanggunian Committee on Health chairman, thanked the team for choosing Negros Occidental to be the recipient of the mission. He also said the activity was a big help, especially to the poor constituents of the two cities who cannot afford to go to a doctor.

Himamaylan City Mayor Agustin Ernesto Bascon also thanked the provincial government and the medical team for allowing his constituents to avail of the free medical mission.

The medical team were tendered dinner and entertainment during a Governor's Night at the Capitol Social Hall last night, the press release also said.*
