Kapuso stars celebrate
BacoLaodiat Festival

Kapuso stars wowed and joined Bacoleños in celebrating the BacoLaodiat Festival with fun games and song and dance numbers at the North Capitol road and SM City Mall yesterday and Saturday.

Leading the Kapuso stars was Claudine Barretto with Isabel Oli, Bubbles Paraiso, sisters Michelle and Ehra Madrigal, Victor Aliwalas, and Sid Lucero who entertained Bacolenos on its “Bacolaodiat Festival: Kapuso Night” Saturday.

The “Bacolaodiat Festival: Mall Show” starred Mark Herras, Ynna Asistio, Alden Richards, and Rachel Ann Go of Party Pilipinas, GMA Network's Sunday variety show.

Stars like Michelle and Bubbles expressed their love for Bacolod food, especially the cakes and pastries and joked that they gained a couple of pounds in only two days in the city.

They also expressed appreciation at the way the people welcomed them and said they felt the warmth and love of their fans.

Asked what roles he still wants to portray, Lucero said, “My job, basically, is to tell the story of my country...so I want to work and work, until I can't anymore.”

He also said it is always an honor for him to be compared with Coco Martin, with whom he has worked in many indie films, and called Martin one of the greatest actors he has worked with.

Michelle is currently starring in “Kung Aagawin mo ang Langit” and is hosting Party Pilipinas with sister Ehra.

Fans of Bubbles and Isabel can watch out for their new shows with GMA Network.

In a press statement, Oliver Amoroso, Assistant Vice President for GMA Regional TV, said they are truly grateful to the organizers of BacoLaodiat Festival for making them their festival partner. He added that their active participation proves that Kapuso Network is continuously providing exciting and quality events to their Kapuso Bacoleños. *LTG

Bacolod Rep. Anthony Rolando Golez Jr. has filed 153 bills and resolutions, of which 82 are principal authorships and 71 are co-authorships, as of January 18, 2011, a press release from his office said.

Several local government units have expressed support to the proposed laws filed by Golez and the provincial board of Bulacan and the city council of Dipolog City, Zamboanga Del Norte passed separate resolutions backing up the measures he had proposed, the press release said.

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Bulacan passed Resolution No. 253, Series of 2011, supporting House Bill No. 2838 filed by Golez which intends to increase the allowance of barangay day care workers, the press release said.

The SP of Dipolog City, Zamboanga Del Norte passed Resolution 11-539, which expressed support for the passage of House Bill No. 3423 also filed by Golez which it intends to lower the age for criminal liability, the press release said.

In their Resolution, the SP of Dipolog City cited the need for such law because of the spate of crimes being committed by minors, who appear to have acted with discernment, the press release said.*
