La Salle golfers dominated the five divisions of the 11th Ateneo-La Salle Golf Classic 2012 to claim the overall championship for the second time in the 11-year history of the friendly golf tournament played this year at the Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club in Brgy. Bata, Bacolod City over the weekend.
Marco Mendoza led the Green Archers campaign by topping the Class A division, while his fellow La Sallians Paolo Rojas placed second and Leonard Gonzaga settled for third place.
Jun-B Bantug gave La Salle another tile in Class B with his lowest gross finish, while Board Member Patrick Lacson picked up the top prize in Class B gross net, followed by Joe Villanueva and Bob Coscolluela, also from La Salle.
In Class C division, La Salle’s Rene Rodriguez claimed the lowest gross honors, while Bro. Bernie Oca, Johnny Sy, and Nato Monfort, all for La Salle, were the top three golfers in their category.
Mark Gaston of Ateneo, lifted Ateneo’s banner by topping the Open division’s lowest gross, while fellow Blue Eagle Rey Gaston edged La Salle’s Marc Christian Yu and Fritz Gaston, also of Ateneo, complete the list of the top three players in the bracket.
