12th TKP Class A title
JSY Transport lived up to billing as the tournament favorite by dominating Talisay City, 89-71, to capture the Class A title of the 12th Tan Kek Pin Memorial Basketball Cup at Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym .
Most Valuable player Alfie VIllariza struck hardest for JSY with 26 points, while fellow mythical five awardee former West Negros University Mustang Ely Olarte added 17 points.
Defense played also a big part for the JSY victory as their frontline e registered several block shots while their guards and wings were quick to defend against the challenge of Talisay’s outside gunners.
| Klitschko claims 50th KO Undisputed world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko claimed the 50th knock-out and 57th victory of his career when he ended hapless Frenchman Jean-Marc Mormeck's hopes in the fourth round on Saturday. Klitschko, 35, defended his IBF, IBO, WBO and WBA titles against Mormeck, who stepped up from cruiserweight just over two years ago, in Dusseldorf and made good on his promise to knock the Frenchman out. "I'm delighted to get the 50th knock-out of my career, I promised and I delivered," said Klitschko, who had a 17cm height advantage over the Frenchman. |
