The National Economic and Development Authority is conducting orientations on the Regional Development Plan for 2011- 2016 in the different provinces and cities of Western Visayas.
After Guimaras, Capiz, and Iloilo City, the next RDP orientation will be conducted in Negros Occidental on June 13, Bacolod City on June 14, and Aklan and Antique in July, a NEDA press release said.
The gathering aims to explain the highlights of the RDP and to generate support from the local government units, the civil society, and the academe in pro-actively contributing to the attainment of the region’s goals and targets, it said.
SSS members can now apply
for loan condonations online
Social Security System members can now apply for condonation of loan penalties through the SSS website to make their availment of the amnesty program faster and more convenient.
SSS Officer-in-Charge Edgar Solilapsi announced in a press release that delinquent borrowers who are eligible for the condonation of 80 to 90 percent of their penalties can file their applications at www.sss.gov.ph.
"We have made it easier for members to apply for penalty condonation by allowing them to file online instead of them going personally to an SSS branch," Solilapsi noted.
30 BPO firms

At least 30 business process outsourcing companies in the Philippines are generating between P1 billion to P17 billion in annual revenues, House Deputy Majority Leader Roman Romulo said.
“The 30 firms are the faces of our BPO industry. They each directly employ anywhere from 5,000 to 25,000 mostly college-educated, fluent English-speaking and tech-savvy Filipino professionals,” Romulo said in a press release said.
