The Philippine Association of General Services Officers Inc. will hold its 7th annual convention at the Bacolod Pavillon Hotel, today until May 26, on the theme “Regional Empowerment…Key to a Sustained National PAGSO Growth”, a press release from organizers said.
The event that will be attended by about 500 delegates composed of general services and supply officers nationwide will discuss the latest trends and issuances on property management, to be tackled by a representative from the Commission on Audit; and the role of the Government Procurement Policy Board, by Dennis Santiago of the GPPB, the press release added.
Jerome Solinap, GSO of Bacolod City, is the national president of the Association.
Rep. Ma. Carmen Zamora–Apsay (Compostela Valley), proponent of House Bill 00305 that seeks to make mandatory the creation of the position of GSO in the towns, will keynote the activity, that will also be attended by Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia and Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson, the press release said.
The champion MassKara Festival dancers will entertain the delegates, a “Governor’s Night” sponsored by Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. will be held tomorrow, and a “Congressman’s Night” on May 25 by Rep. Alfredo Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3rd District), the press release also said.* back
