Azkals vs. nat’l U22 team
in San Carlos City today
Getting ready for their June 1 friendly game against Malaysia, the Philippine men’s football team Azkals will have a tune up match today, 4 p.m. in San Carlos City against the Under 22 national team.
Philippine Football Federation technical director for Visayas John Carmona, who was also tapped to coach the U22 national team, said it will be a good match-up as he is expecting the younger team to give their best against the Azkals.
The U22 squad has been training in San Carlos early this month in preparation for the AFC Championships Qualifier in Myanmar starting June 23.
| Champu wins Game 1 in Champu moves a win away from clinching the championship as it beat Crismar, 87-79, in Game 1 of the best-of-three final series of the Your Basketball Athletic Club 2nd Conference Presidential Inter-Color Tournament at the West Negros University Gym. Mario Reyes led Champu with 21 points, seven of them in the fourth quarter, while Edgard Gallo topscored for Crismar with 19 points. Taking a 19-14 lead in the first quarter as Gallo scored nine points, Crismar was in control of the game until Champu stepped on the gas for a 24-16 rally with Soquiña delivering 11 points and Rolly Buenaflor with five points for a 38-35 halftime lead. |
