Athletes from Candoni, Cauayan, and Ilog dominated both the elementary and secondary athletics competition while taking several gold medals in the ballgames department of the Area VI Sports and Cultural Meet 2012 hosted by the town of Ilog.

Grouped under Sub Area 2, the Candoni, Cauyan, and Ilog contingent swept the elementary and secondary boys and girls’ athletics while grabbing the gold in secondary girls’ arnis, secondary boxing, elementary football, elementary girls’ badminton, and elementary boys and girls’ chess.

The contingent from Sipalay City and Hinobaan, comprising the Sub Area 1, bagged the overall championship in elementary girls and secondary boys’ ballgames, while placing second behind Sub Area 3 or the Kabankalan contingent in elementary boys’ ballgames and third in secondary girls’ ballgames.

Sub Area 1 also won the gold in elementary girls’ softball, elementary boys’ badminton, and secondary boys’ arnis, while settling for silver in secondary boxing, secondary boys’ arnis, elementary girls’ badminton, and elementary boys and girls’ chess.

Sub Area 2 also won the overall championship in the cultural contest both in the elementary and secondary divisions.*NAB
