Administration party Lakas-Kasaligan has dropped the number one councilor of Dumaguete City from its line-up reportedly due to family considerations.

Mayor Agustin Perdices confirmed that Councilor Rotelio Lumjod had begged off although he was feeling bad about leaving the group, saying he has family matters to attend to.

Perdices added that Lumjod has been put in a situation where he has to make a decision to remain with the group, or create "problems" with his family. Because of this, Lumjod eventually landed in the line-up of his cousin, Board Member Arturo Umbac. Perdices said he understands Lumjod's predicament and that the party is implementing a full-back position by fielding Amy Lowell Dicen, daughter of Councilor Sammy Dicen.

Aside from the incumbents Manuel Sagarbarria, Noel de Jesus, Edion Catan, Frank Esmeņa, Lakas-Kasaligan is also composed of comebacking Rommel Erames, neophytes George Villamor, Catalina Amasula, Danilo Leon, Harry Gonzales, Amy Dicen and Vice Mayor William Ablong.

On the other hand, the entire slate of Umbac consists of former vice mayor Woodrow Maquiling as his running mate, former councilors Dr. Rafael Lagahit, Jess Estrabela, Nilo Sayson, neophytes Ronnel Enario, Mary Ann dela Raya, Jose Chiu Jr., JV Pro Teves, Dave Saceda, Tony Remollo and Rotelio Lumjod.

They are running under a mixed ticket of the united opposition of Jejomar Binay.*JG
