The Subdivision and Housing Developers Association in partnership
with the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council will jointly organize
the 2007 SHDA-HUDCC National Developers' Convention and Exhibition at the World
Trade Center in Manila on October 24 to 26, SHDA first vice president Ed Alunan
said yesterday. The event aims to promote the welfare of member developers,
deliver quality and affordable housing, unite the developers and practitioners
in the housing sector and work in partnership with the government in addressing
the country's housing needs, he said. Among the speakers during the event
is Vice President Noli de Castro. Willie Uy, chairman of SHDA's Board of Governors,
said their organization is committed to address the housing needs of the country.
Every SHDA national convention is an evolution, constantly progressing,
always in step with current market issues, never losing track of its long-term
vision, Alunan said. Discussions during the convention will include the
rising demands of SHDA members for the latest innovations in construction materials,
new cost efficient building systems and real estate professional services available
in the global market. Some of the conference topics include Housing Investment
and Economic Prospects, Housing Finance Forum with government's Pag-IBIG and SSS,
together with the private sector's home-lending banks, New Construction Technology
Forum, Global Market Opportunities - USA, Korea, Japan and the Middle East, Legislative
