BREDCO Cup
starts Saturday

The two-day 2007 MassKara Invitational Open Trio Bowling Tournament dubbed 2nd BREDCO Cup rolls off Saturday at the New Top's Millennium Plaza Alley in Bacolod City.

Organized by the Active Solid Strikers Fellowship Bowlers Inc. in cooperation with Sharp, Panasonic and the Knights of Columbus, the tournament offers P42,000 worth of gift certificates to the top four winners in two divisions.

ASSFBI president Edgar Allan del Rosario said hostilities will start at 1:30 p.m.

The bowling tilt is an 8-game series, where the top four teams will face each other in a cross-over semifinal match. The two winners will then battle in a knock-out format to determine the champion. Tournament director Dan Dadivas said only players who have played at least four games in the elimination phase will be allowed to play in the championship showdown.

It will be a "blind and spread system" in the cross-over match, Dadivas said. The top four squads after eight-games will be provided with a sheet of paper for players to choose their alley assignment, not knowing what team will be their opponents in the lane, he added. PHIDBC and ASSFBI ratings will be used, he said.*HLG
