The Department of Agriculture Regional Field Unit-7 held a Cassava Grand Festival Day, at the Moriah Farm, in Brgy. Napacao, Siaton town, Negros Oriental, recently.

The festival, that showcased the cassava planted on a half-hectare lot in Siaton town, and the technologies used in its production, was highlighted by a cooking demonstration of dishes using cassava as its raw material, Nittz Bangay, of the Provincial Agriculture Office, said.

She added the DA Field Unit-7 is assisting in the implementation of the cassava program in the province.

The festival was attended by Siaton Mayor Alberto Ator; and Provincial Agriculturist Gregorio Paltinca; Medardo Villalon, corn coordinator; and George Ubag, cassava focal person in the province.*RG
