…and in Bago City, too
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

Thousands of spectators from Bago City and from neighboring towns and cities witnessed the 20-minute musical fireworks display at the Manuel Torres Memorial Sports Complex on Sunday.

City Mayor Ramon Torres urged Bagonhons to welcome the world to Bago City, and together in the new year, they will light up the world.

On cue, more colors, and more sparks flew off the ground and brought spectators in the jam packed stadium to greater excitement, a press release from the Philippine Information Agency said.

Since it started in 2009 when retired international corporate lawyer from Luxembourg Raymund Stoffel, brought the idea to Torres to stage the first of its kind "Lights of Bago", the event has continued to draw more and more crowds each year.

Vice Mayor Nicolas Yulo, the event chair for the 4th Lights of Bago, said that they want to make it a tradition while also supporting the advocacy of the government for the proper use of firecrackers.

As the musical fireworks with theme songs from the hit TV series Glee finally ended, the spectators cheered and clapped in awe, the press release added.*
