3rd district road
network up for review

Rep. Alfredo Abelardo Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3rd District) recently met with city and town planning officers, engineers and key staff of the 1st Engineering District, led by Jaime Javellana, to assess the status of plans and the implementation of work on the road network in the third district, a press release from his office said yesterday.

Stressing the need to prioritize and integrate efforts of the Department of Public Works and Highways and the local government units, Benitez urged them to submit to his office plans and project studies as well as status reports on primary and secondary roads, and arterial and farm-to-market roads, before Congress resumes its session on July 23, it said.

Benitez emphasized the need to align all road construction and bridge projects with the development plans of the towns and cities, and urged the drawing up of a master plan for a more meaningful and relevant projection of development initiatives.

Ongoing are the improvement of primary roads along the national highway in the cities of Talisay and Victorias, the press release added.*
