Driver faces raps for
slay, rape attempt

BY GILBERT BAYORAN

The police have filed attempted rape with frustrated homicide charges against a tricycle driver, who allegedly tried to molest, and stab a young housewife 11 times last week in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.

Supt. Noel Mana-ay, Cadiz police chief, yesterday identified the arrested suspect, as Roberto Calbario, 34, a tricycle driver.

Mana-ay said the 22-year-old victim, whose identity is being withheld, boarded a tricycle driven by Calbario and he tried to molest her, a Cadiz police report showed.

The victim fought back and was stabbed several times by the suspect, Mana-ay said.

The suspect, was later arrested by the Cadiz police, while the victim, who survived her ordeal, was brought to the Cadiz Emergency Clinic for treatment of her injuries.* GPB
