A Bacoleño won P1 million in the Instant Premyo sa Resibo of the Bureau of Internal Revenue, a program that encourages the public to continually demand and ask for official services for goods and services rendered.
Teresita Legaspi, Taxpayers Assistance Unit head, named the winner as Rene Corral, who won the raffle draw in April.
She said Corral is the first winner in Bacolod to win the P1 million since the program started.
Legaspi said, that when customers demand for receipts, they are helping BIR in monitoring incomes of establishments and also get to win prizes.
IPSR involves the private sector, voluntary compliance from taxpayes, and improve knowledge on the issuance of BIR registered receipts and invoices, she said.
Buyers must use the 9 to 12 digit tax identification number of the establishment, the amount of purchase, and the official receipt number to get a valid entry for the PSR electronic draw, Legaspi said.
They need to send via text messaging: PSR<space>TIN<space>OR#<space>Amount to 9777 for single entry or 9778 for multiple entries, she added.* LTG
