The Zonta Club of
Bacolod induction

The officers and directors of Zonta Club of Bacolod for biennium year 2012 – 2014 were recently installed by past area director Ofelia Servando at the Sea Breeze Hotel.

Inducted were president Merle Lizares, vice president Dr. Marilen Marañon, recording secretary Suzette Lacson, corresponding secretary Manon Hernaez, treasurer Carmencita Maalat, assistant treasurer Tess Nazarea, auditor Josie Agustin, PRO Patching Puentevella, and directors Nina Arceo, Lovelyn de la Cruz, Lina Lim and Taba Unson.

The program opened with a welcome address by Tess Nazarea, followed by the report by outgoing president Isabel Urra. Past president Ofelia Servando installed the officers and presented the Zonta gravel, banner and president’s pen to incoming president, Merle Lizares, as a symbol of commitment to the Zonta Club of Bacolod and Zonta International.

In her acceptance speech, Lizares challenged the members to fulfill their responsibilities as members in achieving the goals of Zonta Club and in uplifting the status of women worldwide. After her speech Merle was surprised to see her son Paul, and her three grandchildren, Iñigo, Saulo and lovely Ines holding a bouquet of two dozens of red, red roses.
