UNO-R to install 15th prexy

Fr. Emeterio Digal Buñao will be installed today as the 15th president of the University of Negros Occidental–Recoletos after the 8 a.m. mass at the school gymnasium, with Rev. Fr. Julius Marcos, councilor of the Province of St. Ezekiel Moreno, as main celebrant.

The presidential investiture rites will include the relinquishment message of Rev. Fr. Dionisio Cachero, UNO-R president from 2009-2012; presentation of the certificate of appreciation to Cachero by Fr. Constantine Real, prior of the Recoletos de Bacolod; profession of faith by Buñao, donning of the academic gown; the presentation of the school’s mission and vision by Fr. Cornelio Moral, vice president for Religious Affairs; and Buñao’s inaugural address, the press release also said.

Buñao used to be the school VP for Administration and director for Scholarships. He was acting president when Cachero attended a renewal course in Brazil January to February 2012. Appointed as House prior of the Recoletos de Bacolod Community from 2006 to 2012, Buñao also serves as president of the Recoletos Social Outreach Center in Brgy. Handumanan, Bacolod City, a press release said.

Before his election as UNO-R president, Buñao was the second prior provincial of the Order of Augustinian Recollects in the Province of St. Ezekiel Moreno, served as rector of the OAR Formation Houses, president of OAR schools, and member of the Board of Trustees of San Miguel Corporation in the early years of his service in the Order of the Augustinian Recollects in the Philippines.*

Spiderman in Bacolod

A “Meet and Greet Spiderman: The Friendly Neighborhood Hero” activity will be held at SM City Bacolod, at 4 p.m. on June 24, a press release from the mall said.

There will also be face painting, coloring, photo booth activities, the press release also said.

Spiderman is one of the most popular and commercially successful superheroes. As Marvel's flagship character and company mascot, he has appeared in many forms of media, including several animated and live-action television shows, syndicated newspaper comic strips, and a series of films, the press release added.*
