San Carlos, PFF holds
age-group football fest

The Negros Occidental Football Association, through the San Carlos City Negros Football Club, recently hosted the Philippine Football Federation `Festival of Football-Visayas’for Under 13 girls and under 14 boys.

Joined by five ball clubs in the Visayas, the three-day event included a skills test among the participants and a single round format competition, PFF regional director John Carmona said.

He added that the PFF festival of football is an annual event organized by the PFF technical department to identify young talents who will be recommended for the national try out of the under 13 girls team and under 14 boys team.

Those who will make it to the training pool will have the chance to represent the country in the coming Asian Football Confederation Festival of Football in Thanh Long Vietnam for the U13 girls and Sabah Malaysia for the U14 boys, Carmona said.

Extending his support to the football development program in the country, specifically in San Carlos City, Mayor Gerardo Valmayor led the row of guests who did the ceremonial kick-off during the opening of the football festival, he added.

With Valmayor at the opening rites were PFF competitions committee chairman and Negros Oriental Football Association president Dick Emperado, PFF official Ariston Caslib, PFF technical director Oliver Colina, national team U14 head coach Eleazar Toledo and Cebu FA vice president Rev. Fr, Vicente Ramon.*NAB
