Australian mission arrives

Gov. Alfredo  Marañon Jr.  welcomed John Rivas  of the Philippine Consulate in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia and party who arrived Saturday, in Negros Occidental for the Australian Diplomatic Mission.

The mission  aims to establish a "sisterhood" agreement with Darwin, Australia, provide employment opportunities for Negrenses, as well as promote the province's tourism and investment potentials, a  press release from the Capitol said.

 Present were  Rep. Alfredo Marañon Jr.,  Dr. Marilyn Marañon, provincial consultants Roy Balicas and Nancy Pestano, Provincial Tourism Officer Cristine Mansinares, and Cristina Orbecido of the Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center.*
