Bacolod Tay Tung High School dominated the NOPSSCEA 10-under boys and girls chess tournament held at the University of Negros Occidental Recoletos in Bacolod City recently.

The BTTHS wood pushers outplayed host UNO-R in boys’ 10-under division to capture the title, while their counterparts in the girls department also beat the host team for the crown.

Composing the champion boys’ team are John Jay Frondoza, Tyrone Dale Yao, Jaleel Aeron Enaguas, Kurt Matthew Tan, Fransev Henry Piorque, Gyneal Paul Nillos, Hans Gawte and Miles Gauma, with James Carmelo Uy as coach.

The winning girls’ team is composed of Shakira Kee, Angel Bedayos, Annela Servelo, Lia Nobleza, Marian Bedayos, and Raphaelle Subayco.*HLG
