St. Joseph’s Day

We celebrated and honored the Feast Day of St. Joseph the Worker, chosen by God to be the foster father of Our Lord Jesus Christ, spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Patron of the Church, and head of the Holy Family, March 19.

It was a traditional breakfast celebration for our family, hosted by sister Letty. The retired teacher of Bata Elementary School was always present for the Chorale after the ceremonial breakfast of the Holy Family, finally the kissing of the hand of the Holy Family.

Then I was off to the Leonardia residence for the yearly celebration, with the same procedure, except that they had an organ player who accompanied the chorus. The drizzle did not stop relatives and friends from joining the ceremony. The tables were arranged in an “L”, shape for easy serving. Thank God, and St. Joseph, the rain stopped after lunch.

An early mass was held at the family mausoleum to remember their dear mom, Lourdes Concha Ciocon, on her 11th death anniversary last March 20, headed by Roseller Concha Ciocon, president of L.C. and Sons’ Group of Companies, and the rest of the family.

This was followed by an early dinner at the new L.C. Dimson function room that can accommodate 250 persons. Present were members of the Ciocon-Concha families, as far as Sipalay. It was a grand reunion, and the cousins and relatives were very grateful to this special celebration.

Chef Cured of L.C. Dimson prepared all the mouthwatering dishes. It was also the first time that the sister-friends of Delia Granada, were all in attendance.

I had to bid goodbye or else, I would miss my teleserye.
