JSY Countertrade posts
first win in Fil-Sino tilt

Needing to assert its presence in the tournament, JSY Countertrade beat JSY Transport, 94-80, to barge into the win column of the 2012 Fil-Sino All Asian Countertrade Inc. 1st Conference Inter-Color Basketball at Bacolod Tay Tung High School Hang Gym.

Also registering a big win was Huminova Tigers, who overcame a 62-57 deficit then roared past AACI Transport for an 83-80 victory.

In the battle between two JSY teams, Biboy Uysang, the oldest active Fil-Sino member, surprised the Transport team as he topscored for Countertrade with 29 points.

Uysang unleashed several unstoppable jumpers from the perimenters while his teammates Mark Velez, Jan Jan Guevarra and Berto Uy scored on fastbreaks to frustrate JSY Transport.

Rey Jara tried to plug the holes in Transport’s offense with 25 points, while Rey Jara backed him up with 25 markers and CJ Aguilar added 18 points, but Countertrade will not be denied of its first win.

Meanwhile, RB Chua and Bobby Yap scored eight points apiece as the Tigers clawed their way back from a 62-57 at the end of the third quarter.

Chua made a trey to give the Tigers the lead, but Bong Palo responded with a triple to put ACCI Transport on top once again at 78-77.

Another triple from secured the lead for good for the Tigers as Transport failed to counter.

With seven seconds left, Chibon Uy scored a layupto cut the lead to a a point, but Tigers Danny Boy Uy sank two pressure-packed free throws to restore the lead back to three points.

Transport had the chance to force an overtime but the last attempt airballed as time expired.

Danny Boy Uy led the Tiges with 16 points, RB Chua added 14, Bobby Yap hit 11, Monroe Chua shot 10, Johnnyson Yu scored 9 points and Eugene Tsai finished with 7 points.

Yan Yan Dy paced Transport with 26 points backstopped by Joshua Co with 15, Ricky Chua and Uy with 9 points each, Chief Supt. Adonis Rosales had 8, Joel Masadia and Bong Palo contributed 6 points apiece.*NAB
