lice: Construction worker nabbed
in slay of colleague using fake name

The construction worker nabbed for shooting dead his colleague on Saturday was found to be using a fictitious name as he has an arrest warrant for murder, Station 9 commander, Chief Insp. Placido Gentoleo said, yesterday.

Rafael Oñate, 40, of Brgy. Ilijan, Bago City, who was initially identified as “Allan Alayon”, 40, of Ilog town, Negros Occidental, was arrested for shooting Ryan Española, 32, of Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, in the chest in Purok Fatima, Brgy. Sum-ag, Bacolod, over an old grudge, Gentoleo said.

However, further investigation revealed that Oñate was using a different name, and that he has an arrest warrant for murder issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Frances Guanzon, who denied him bail, Gentoleo also said.

He said Oñate has been endorsed to the Bago City police who are preparing the charges against him for the death of Española.

Police Officer 3 Ronico Despabeladero of the Station 4 Warrant and Subpoena Section, meanwhile, reported the arrest of Donie Geroche, 50, of Purok Villa Villeta, Brgy. Estefania, Bacolod, who is wanted for frustrated homicide, at his residence at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Despabeladero said Geroche was apprehended on the strength of the arrest warrant issued by Municipal Trial Court in Cities Judge Abraham Bayona, who set his bail at P12,000.

Police records show that Geroche was also apprehended by Station 4 policemen at his house on January 25, this year on the strength of an arrest warrant for grave threats issued by Municipal Trial Court in Cities Judge Jose Paolo Ariola, who set his bail at P12,000.*APN
