Gargar tops master
bowler race

Rey Gargar of TNT/Cesar Machine Shop/NPBC bagged the master bowler title in the Class A division, while Johann Genolos and Stella Ongsingco of St. Joseph High School Alumni Association did the same in their respective departments of the 19 th Sharp Friendship Cup Open Trio Bowling Tournament at the New Top's Millennium Plaza Alley in Bacolod City.

Gargar claimed the Class A championship by default when NPBC/RJ Stars twice-to-beat qualifier Hernand Garciniego of NPBC/RJ Stars opted not to play after he felt a cramp on his left arm before the championship game.

Gargar advanced to the final after beating Dodong Paran of Kami Mga Hubin in the semi-final, 123-113.

In the non-rated bracket, top seed Johann Genolos outclassed Rommel Agupitan of St. Joseph HS in the final showdown, 98-95 for the master's title.

Agupitan beat Nonoy Ayagan of ESD Electronz/ASSFBI in the semis, 89-87.

Stella Ongsingco of St. Joseph captured the master's title in the distaff side with a victory over No.1 seed and twice-to-beat Precy Pillo of Davies Fusion, 89-87.

Seeded No.3, Ongsingco climbed to the top by defeating Tiger Eye bet Cecil Biendo in her first quarterfinal assignment, 105-98, and followed it up with another win over No.2 Tess Robles of Davies Fusion I, 102-88.

The other tournament's top 10 players who failed to make it in the magic four survivors were Wilson Casas (KMH), Nonoy Hulguin (Sharp), Rey Bala-an (Sharp), Erwin Mazarte (Mulo Cara), Marlon Jochico (Davies), and Nonoy Gatila (Silverado/ASSFBI) in the men's rated bracket;

Ric Abellar (Bago City Bowlers), Irne Diaz (Sharp), Ulysses Pacheco (Canvil Knights), Art Palo, Elmer Libo-0n (Canvil K), and Edgar Altarejos (St. Joseph) in the non-rated;

Sylvia del Rosario (Condura ASSFBI), Carmen Romales (Tiger Eye), Juliet Regollo (Condura), Rowena Juarez (RJ Stars/NPBC, Suzette Morales ( St. Joseph ), and Minnie Chua (St. Joseph HS) in the women's category.*
