Two were killed, and a motorcycle driver is now in critical condition after they figured in vehicular accidents in barangays Tangub and Banago, Bacolod City, Thursday night.

Rey Jaducana, 28, of Purok Katilingban, Brgy. Banago, died at about 1 a.m. yesterday at the Pablo O. Torre Memorial Hospital, Police Officer 3 Wilson Go, traffic investigator, said.

Jaducana was riding on a Honda XRM motorcycle driven by his neighbor, Johnrey Manong, who is also confined at the same hospital for the injuries he sustained, Go said.

Investigation showed that the motorcycle which Jaducana was riding was heading north of San Juan Street when they hit the Toyota Revo they were tailing when it made a U-turn at about 11:30 p.m.

Webster Joseph Celis, 36, of Mountain View Subdivision, Mandalagan, who was driving the Revo, surrendered to Police Station 3, Go said.

Go added that the two were not wearing crash helmets when the accident happened, while Brgy. Banago tanod Erlon Catabuena claimed that the motorcycle was running at a fast speed.

Meanwhile, a stevedore died on the spot in what had appeared to be a hit-and-run accident in front pf a call center firm in Brgy. Tangub at about 11:30 p.m.

Go identified the fatality as Larry Legaspi, 36, of Brgy. Tabugon, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental and also a resident of Purok San Roque, Brgy. Tangub.

There were witnesses who said Legaspi was run over by two vehicles driven by unidentified men, but Go said they will verify that because the security guard of the call center firm said only one vehicle bumped Legaspi.

Ronaldo Valencia, Legaspi’s cousin, called on the drivers or drivers to surrender and help them with his burial.

Records from the Bacolod City Police Traffic Management Unit show that there have been 40 fatalities recorded caused by vehicular accidents in the city since January, this year.*APN
