Patrimonio in Bacolod to
promote PBA game
BY CEDELF TUPAS

Alvin Patrimonio, a four-time Most Valuable Player in the Philippine Basketball Association, will be in Bacolod City today to drum up interest for the PBA road game between the Purefoods Giants and the Air 21 Express next month.

The 6-foot-3 Patrimonio, dubbed “the Captain” during his heydays, is scheduled to appear in a 10:30 a.m. press conference at West Negros College , which will also host the PBA game on Dec. 15 at the WNC Gym.

Joining Patrimonio, who serves as Purefoods manager, at the press conference is Emmanuel Yap, the uncle of Purefoods star and 2006 PBA MVP James Yap.

The Giants, led by Yap and RP Team standout Kerby Raymundo, are off to one of their finest starts in recent years, winning eight of their first nine games --- the latest coming at the expense of the Alaska Aces, 87-86, last night at the Araneta Coliseum.

Purefoods prevailed in its first meeting with Air 21, 100-81, last week. Air 21 will be powered by young guns Arwind Santos, JC Intal and KG Canaleta.*CPT
