Prisaa execs meet today
BY PATRICK PANGILINAN

The Western Visayas Private Schools and Athletics Association will hold its final board meeting today at the University of Iloilo to iron out the kinks in its hosting of this year's National PRISAA Games in Iloilo City from April 15-21.

Roger Banzuela, chairman of the Western Visayas PRISAA technical committee, yesterday told the DAILY STAR, however, that the organization still lacks fund for the school-based games despite efforts to raise money. "The budget is still our number one problem," he said.

He explained that, unlike here in Bacolod City, where venues can be used for minimal fees, they have to pay for the facilities in Iloilo City in a daily basis which is more expensive.

Banzuela also said that he had already suggested that the Region VI PRISAA hold a conference with different stakeholders in Iloilo City especially the business sector to be partners in organizing the event.

He said that the organizers can request the hotels to put up streamers that will welcome the delegates instead of spending money for the signage themselves.

Malls and hospitals can also help by giving discounts to an estimated 2,500 athletes from 16 regions who will compete in 14 sports disciplines, Banzuela added. "Iloilo City will be the one to benefit from this event and not PRISAA," Banzuela said.* PP
