Free review classes for the controversy-laden 2006 Nursing
Board Passers are set on April 16 to June 3.
The retake examination schedule is set in time for the June
and December 2007 Nursing Board Exams, a Philippine Information
Agency press release said yesterday. The Department of Labor and
Employment and the Association of Deans of Philippine Colleges of
Nursing enter into a Memorandum of Agreement providing for the one-week
special review sessions to any of the 17,000 June 2006 nursing board
passers who opt to take the retake exams of Test 3 and Test 5.
A 64-hour session is divided between both tests, 40 hours
for test 3 or the medical nursing and 24 hours for test 5 or psychiatric
nursing.
With the P20 million granted by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo
for the special review, DOLE will spend P1,200 per enrollee to be
paid directly to participating schools to handle the review classes.
For those who wish to take the review classes coming from
Negros Occidental and the rest of Western Visayas, St. Paul University
in Iloilo City has agreed to act as the regional coordinator with
seven other schools in the country that will serve as regional coordinators
in their respective areas.
There will be 18 schools to host the review classes and West
Visayas State University is hosting the review for the Western Visayas
Area.
Registration for those who wish to avail of the free review classes
started yesterday and will last until April 4. They may also register
on line at www.specialnursingreview.dole.gov.ph or personally visit
the identified schools or the DOLE regional or provincial offices.
Negros Occidental 2006 passers may visit DOLE-Negros at 2nd Floor
UTC Building, Araneta- Alunan Streets, Bacolod City.*
