Degamo unfazed by
‘endorsement’ of Teves

BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo said yesterday he is unfazed by the unofficial endorsement of former Finance Secretary Gary Teves by Vice President Jejomar Binay, and  the fact that Degamo’s  expected opponents in the 2013 election are moneyed politicians.

Degamo said the final arbiter will be the people.

Binay had said that  he believes  Teves possessed the perfect qualification to become governor of Negros Oriental when he  attended the 92nd birthday of former 3rd District Rep. Herminio “Meniong” Teves,  with some of  the country’s business tycoons like Bobby Ongpin and Ramon Ang of San Miguel, and other politicians.

The elder Teves, considered a political kingpin in the province, meanwhile, said a three-cornered fight for the governorship will give the electorate more choices.*JG
