Cebu Pacific announced yesterday its new Kalibo-HongKong-Kalibo service that will greatly increase the options for passengers in Western Visayas, and its use of larger aircrafts flying to the Bacolod-Silay Airport.
Michelle Eve de Guzman, Cebu Pacific Corporate Communications specialist, said at a press conference in Bacolod yesterday that the airline will increase seat capacity further from Cebu to Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo and General Santos starting tomorrow.
The airline is also set to launch long-haul flights by the third quarter of 2013, with an eye on routes to cities where there are significant Filipino communities, she also said.
It aims to continue to offer its trademark low fares for long-haul routes, which could possibly include Hawaii, Moscow, Australia, India and parts of the Middle East.
CEB is bringing the benefits of low-cost travel to farther destinations to support the country’s trade and tourism goals, and benefit the country’s overseas domestic workers, de Guzman said.
OFWs will be able to come home more often, have more travel choices when deploying to new jobs, and their family members can now visit them overseas with lower CEB rates, she said.
She also said CEB now allows web check ins and a self check ins at Terminal 3 so passengers can check in from 48 hours up to 4 hours before their flight.
The web check in service is available for free for Airbus flights, she added.
On March 17 CEB is also the launching its Manila-Hanoi-Manila at twice weekly service, and will be the only airline to operate that route.
Starting March 23, CEB will also operate the thrice weekly Manila-Xiamen–Manila flight, she added.*
